Seeing some outdated safety info on other sites, so wanted to give a current perspective.
What's Improved

- Better-lit streets in the main nomad areas
- Police presence has increased in tourist zones
Still Watch Out For
- Petty theft in crowded areas (keep phone in front pocket)
- Taxi scams at the airport (use apps instead)
- ATM skimmers (use bank ATMs only)
Common Sense Stuff
- Don't flash expensive gear
- Keep digital copies of documents
- Share your location with someone
Overall I feel very safe here. More so than many cities back home, honestly.
